Residential aged care supports older Australians who are no longer able to live safely or independently in their own homes. It provides accommodation, 24-hour personal care, and access to nursing, allied health, and general medical services in line with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (2025) and the new Statement of Rights.
At St Sergius Aged Care, we are committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and person-centred care in an environment that is respectful, culturally inclusive, and homelike. Our approach reflects the strengthened standards’ focus on dignity, choice, clinical safety, and continuous quality improvement. Registered Nurses are onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, supported by a multidisciplinary team of qualified and compassionate staff who work collaboratively with residents, families, and health professionals.
Our facility accommodates 182 residents, offering individualised care planning tailored to each person’s needs, goals, and preferences. This includes specialised dementia support within a dedicated secure environment and comprehensive palliative care that addresses physical comfort as well as emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social wellbeing.
Our aim is to provide residential aged care that families across Sydney can trust—care that upholds residents’ rights, promotes independence where possible, and ensures safety, comfort, and respect at all times.
Since our beginnings as the Russian Relief Association in 1945, St Sergius has remained committed to culturally responsive, values-based care that honours traditions, faith, language, and community connections. Today, our services align with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (2025), ensuring care that is culturally safe, inclusive, and grounded in dignity, respect, and individual rights.
We recognise the importance of maintaining identity and belonging. Our lifestyle program includes organised bus outings, cooking groups, exercise sessions, concerts, cultural celebrations, and craft activities designed to promote wellbeing, social connection, and purpose. By fostering a familiar, homelike environment, we support residents to live meaningfully within their own cultural traditions and personal values.
Residents are encouraged to remain active and engaged, while their privacy, independence, and choices are always respected. We understand that our greatest strength is our dedicated and compassionate staff, who participate in ongoing education and training to ensure best practice, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement in line with current regulatory standards.
